Mission

The mission of the Alegria Soy Cultural & Community Society is to empower and uplift the community of Edmonds and surrounding areas in British Columbia. We aim to achieve this through various initiatives that promote cultural awareness, social justice, and community development. By organizing cultural events, educational programs, and advocacy campaigns, we seek to build bridges, foster understanding, and create a sense of belonging among diverse communities. Our mission is to inspire positive change, promote equality, and create a more inclusive society for all.

The society promotes peace and harmony, both within themselves and in the world around them. They believe in resolving conflicts throuh dialogue, understanding, and nonviolent means.

Alegria Soy Cultural & Community Society values both material and spiritual progress. We recognize the importance of holistic development that nurtures the mind, body, and soul.

Based in one of Canada’s most diverse neighbourhoods, Alegría Soy is a grassroots non-profit organization working to support the unique needs of Edmonds, Burnaby, and celebrating the important ethnic diversity at the core of our community. We are a group of Edmonds residents who are connected, empowered, and committed to the cause of social justice for ourselves, our families, and our community. Through innovative programs, gatherings, celebrations, and collaborations, we bring attention to the unique, intersecting issues in our neighbourhood.
